It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olin Brinkley Jr., a beloved member of our community in Dothan, Alabama. Born on March 30, 1945, to Theodore and Cora Lee Peterson, Olin left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he touched.

Olin passed away on June 24, 2022, at the age of 74, surrounded by his loved ones. His family and friends will deeply miss him, but they take comfort in the memories they shared with him. He is survived by his children: Willie (Trisha) Peterson, Tammy (Chris) Davis, Tracey Peterson, LaWanda (Keith) Ealy, Vicki (Billy) Morris, and Rachel M. Brinkley.

Olin was preceded in death by his parents, one son Randall 'Jug' Peterson, two sisters Clemmie McGriff and Mary Jean Peterson, and one brother R. C. Peterson. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Olin was a kind and gentle soul who loved his family deeply. His favorite soap operas were The Young and Restless and The Bold and Beautiful, which he would often watch with his loved ones. He worked on the Dillard Farm for many years until his health failed him. Throughout his life, Olin was rooted in Gordon, Alabama, where he lived his whole life.

Olin will be remembered for his warm heart and infectious smile. He touched so many lives, and his legacy will continue to live on through those who loved him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Brinkley family during this difficult time.
